How to Plan a Clinical Research Organization Website
A CRO website should let sponsors evaluate therapeutic, geographic, operational, and quality fit while keeping participant information in the right context.
Organise capabilities around sponsor decisions
Map services to the questions behind a study brief: phase, therapeutic area, countries, site model, patient population, regulatory path, data needs, safety coverage, and delivery responsibilities. Describe where the organisation leads, where it coordinates partners, and which capabilities depend on the study.
Connect full-service and functional offerings without forcing buyers through an internal org chart. The approach in designing for a long sales cycle is useful here: give scientific, clinical, operational, procurement, and executive reviewers evidence appropriate to their decisions.
Support claims with controlled evidence
Present therapeutic experience, delivery models, geographic coverage, technology, and quality systems in terms that can be maintained and substantiated. Do not invent study counts, enrolment performance, client outcomes, or regulatory success rates.
Use approved case studies to explain the challenge, scope, methods, and lessons without exposing sponsors, protocols, sites, or participants. Assign owners to certifications, leadership biographies, privacy notices, and capability pages so regulated information stays current.
Separate sponsor and participant journeys
The marketing site should make sponsor services easy to evaluate while giving participants, investigators, sites, vendors, and job candidates distinct routes. If studies are listed, publish only approved information and make clear where eligibility, consent, and medical questions are handled.
Do not collect health details in a general contact form. Participant-facing experiences may require separate governance, accessibility, language support, privacy review, and study-specific approval beyond the corporate website.
Create qualified enquiry routes
A sponsor form can ask for organisation, development stage, therapeutic area, study phase, target geographies, requested services, planned timing, and the appropriate follow-up contact. Offer a secure process for protocols and confidential documents after the first connection.
Separate business development, investigator or site interest, participant support, vendors, media, and careers. Measure qualified sponsor conversations and useful capability journeys, not every form completion as a sales opportunity.
Make complex capability easier to evaluate
